Listening to Justin Timberlake - My Love

spin samples in the centrifuge. aliquot samples. keep samples in fridge/freezer according to test. check sample against list. process urine sample. run osmo. run ionised calcium.

i multitasked all these at one go with the aim of dumping everything from nrl into the sample manager by 7.

i plonked myself onto a chair after finishing everything, took a really deep breath,

and realised how fucking tired i am.

sometimes i think medical technologists have the memory disk space that is comparable to an 80 Gb hard disk.

from knowing by heart all the codes to the tests while doing order entry ( EVERY test on every fucking request form that exists has a code. go figure how many there are).

to knowing which tubes to use for what test.

to knowing which analyser runs what test, what tests are run on every analyser on what particular days of the week.

to remembering the 101 ways to troubleshoot shit when it happens.

to remembering how often and how to calibrate and operate every analyser.

to knowing what workstation labels to print for what test and where to keep the samples, knowing which test is sent to whichever lab in singapore/overseas.

very taxing on the brain.

im determined to finish watching survivor today. 2 hours finale plus 1 hour reunion.

and im determind to churn out at least 2 more slides for my CME (fell asleep yesterday after 2 slides).

i havent started anything. so i guess no sleep for me tonight.

i realised that, for me to do things that i enjoy nowadays,

i have to do them at the cost of my sleep time.

which is fucking pathetic.
